What are Smokin' Gauchos Fire Gloves made from?
Our Fire Gloves are crafted from premium full-grain leather with a DuPont™ Kevlar® lining, giving you durability, comfort, and serious protection when working over the flames.
How much heat can they handle?
The DuPont Kevlar lining is designed to withstand up to 500°C. This makes them perfect for managing hot grill parts, cast iron, or fire tools during extended cooking sessions.
Are they fireproof?
No glove is completely fireproof. Ours are fire-resistant and heat-rated for open-fire cooking, but they are not designed for holding direct flames. Always use them as intended — for handling hot metal, tools, and cookware safely.
Do they protect my forearms too?
Yes. With an extended cuff, the gloves protect not only your hands but also your wrists and lower forearms, keeping you safe when reaching over coals or adjusting the grill.
Are they one-size-fits-all?
Yes. The design is universal fit — roomy enough for all hand sizes, while still flexible enough to grip tools securely. The natural leather also softens and moulds to your hands with use.
How do I care for my Fire Gloves?
Avoid machine washing. Wipe down with a damp cloth if dirty. Let them air-dry naturally — never use direct heat. Store them in a cool, dry place when not in use. Like all quality leather, they’ll develop a seasoned patina over time, telling the story of your fire-cooking adventures.
Can I use them for more than just grilling?
